Can’t say enough good things about Perfect Manners and Sue. The way she taught me how to train our crazy terrier mix puppy into the most obedient dog ever is amazing. She is very knowledgeable about dogs and if you listen the way she asks you to teach your dog, then I can 100% guarantee you that you will end up with the most obedient and sweet dog. ~ Sudeshna R.

Sue is the best! She helped with obedience training for my Great Dane puppy. Sue is knowledgeable and fun to work with. She taught me how best to communicate with my dog, which has made training more productive and effective. I had four sessions with Sue. After each one of those sessions, my dog continued to do the tasks Sue had taught her earlier that day. It is up to me to follow through and continue practicing with my dog, but I’m amazed with and so thankful for Sue’s work. ~ Jenny K.

How about 10 stars?  Sue was awesome.  I was ready to give up on my Doxie.  He was so out of control that I was in tears.  He is the sweetest, loving dog I have ever had, but he had some really bad habits.  I live in a condo on the first floor, his constant barking when people came/went. Also, I back up to a walking path and he was in an attack mode if someone walk their dog pass our windows.   I was so worried that a neighbor would complain to the Assoc. and I would have to move or get rid of my dog but, I loved him so much and I am his second home, because of this behavior. Trust me, miracles do happen. In session 1 Sue was able to control my dog’s aggressive behavior and barking. She taught me how to work with him in a positive way.   I am so grateful for Sue.  I am still working with my Dog to continue his training. He’s a so calm and responsive now.  Thank you Sue. ~ Joy K.

We were so lucky to have Sue assigned to us, a patient and pleasant trainer (who you can see loves animals) for our 1 year old Maltese. Our “Punczki” is definitely changed and with reinforcement will be the “perfect mannered dog” she listens and seems to enjoy her new role! Thank You Sue! ~ Mary Ellen G.

Our trainer Sue S. Is AMAZING!! We were not doing well training our dog on our own she was very anixious and hard to control. But after our first session with Sue we saw an immediate and huge improvement in our dog’s behavior. Not only does she do a great job showing you how to train your dog she takes the time to explain why dogs behave they do so you really understand the importance of proper training. I would highly recommend Sue if you need help training your dog !!! ~ Kathy Q.

We adopted a chihuahua puppy so wanted to give training a try. Had Sue from Perfect Manners for a first lesson and we were impressed. She is very patient and energetic, and has lots of knowledge to share. While now it’s up to us to continue with what she taught us, I do have to say that later that evening, my puppy sat down nicely for me. ~ Robert P.

We just had our first training session with Sue and it was amazing! Our 10-year old rescue, Charlie, was a nightmare to walk – lunging at every dog, bike, and squirrel he saw. Within 15 minutes, he became the docile dog that I’d always wanted. Sue is patient, calm and a true dog whisperer. Highly recommend going with Perfect Manners for your dog training needs! ~ Rondi B., Naperville

Sue helped us with our 5 month old Golden doodle and within the first day we have seen a vast improvement in her behavior! We cannot wait to continue working with her! So easy to make appointments and work with. Thank you! ~ Kristen N.

We just had our first in-home appointment with Sue and I could not be happier! We have a 15 week old Lab and were desperately in need of being trained on how to communicate with him, starting with what NOT to do in our home. He is smart and a quick learner and already knows a few commands but the typical puppy behavior is what we needed to get under control, particularly the biting. Within 3 minutes of arriving and interacting with Brady he was sitting nicely by her side as we began our lesson. All I can say is AMAZING! Sue showed my daughter and I exactly what to do to begin to teach Brady what is expected of him to lay the foundation for more training AND for a beautiful relationship. I already feel more in control, less than 24 hours later. What a relief! Sue showed up on time, communicated clearly, answered my questions, was calm and firm with Brady and at the end asked if we were interested in more sessions, which I already knew I was! I cannot wait for leash training! If I could give 10 stars I would…cannot recommend Sue and Perfect Manners enough. ~ Lisa K.

We hired Perfect Manners to train our five month old golden retriever and could not be more happy with the results. Our dog now sits, walks at heel, lays down and stays and is no longer prone to distractions or tugging when he sees something or another dog. Our trainer Sue was fantastic – she was so nice and friendly and very clear in how she was going to train our dog and what to expect. Our dog spent about ten days with Sue and her family and had a great time. Sue was diligent about daily progress reports and sent us a bunch of great pictures and videos showing that progress being made. Very happy that our perfect dog is even more perfect now with good training. ~ Scott D.

I am absolutely shocked at how different my dog already is after one session! My dog is/was aggressive towards strangers, protective, and pulled on the leash. After working with Sue my dog is already doing great on the leash walking next to me and less reactive toward strangers! I 100% recommend her! Very nice, attentive, and informative! ~ Megan H.

Absolutely loved working with Sue. Not only was she easy to work with, but there were instant results after just the first hour. Can’t wait to continue out the rest of our sessions. There’s a reason why everyone gives 5 stars here. Thanks again! ~ Mike P.

Sue was the answer to our prayers! As a single mom with not a lot of spare time I needed help quickly and was referred to Sue for help with our puppy. This is our first dog and he went from being a cute teddy bear pup to a full-blown biting and barking nightmare! Sue was able to turn our pup around in ONE APPOINTMENT! She saw several issues that were contributing to the behaviors and worked with me on each one. Sue’s recommendations were easy to follow and worked immediately for our little pup! I am so grateful to Sue for giving us not only our sanity back but also our puppy is now enjoyable again! If you need a trainer who will get to the bottom of your issues quickly and get your dog to listen to you, HIRE SUE!  ~ Stephanie S., Naperville, IL

Sandy is such a bright light–sharing his wisdom, experience, and helpfulness in training our dog. His methods are simple common sense, and my wife and I really enjoyed him and Sue. We would highly recommend them. ~ Randy E., Naperville, IL

There have not been any aggressive acts or lack of compliance with our commands. He seems to be fine with this new status. He actually seems to be looking for praise. He will come up to me, and not jump on me, instead going into a forced sit position. I will then praise him heavily. He periodically jumps when he is excited. This is happening less frequently as the days pass. We had my niece and her family over on Sunday. When they arrived we had a hard time keeping Buffie from jumping on them. But he stopped. On their last visit he was very noisy and we had to remove him from the door. This time he was a perfect angel… We have been repeating commands. Thanks for the advice. I will tell Barb. She especially is saying “heel, heel, heel.” when she has a distraction on the walk. Thanks again for the follow up. We are very happy with the results so far, and will call you later in the week. Please feel free to use us as a reference. Al & Barbara Cain Naperville, IL

Patty at Perfect Manners Dog Training is wonderful! We have a new golden retriever puppy who surprised us with her aggressiveness and dominant tendencies. We were at wits-end and thought we would not be able to keep her. Patty took August for a weekend of training/boarding and the results were amazing. August came home a compliant, loving puppy… the puppy we had hoped for! Friends and family are amazed by the transformation. Patty has taught us a lot. We are very grateful! Susan

Jack is like a new dog! We’ve been following your advice and Jack has become a joy to walk. He actually watches me when we walk now and no more snarling at strangers. Thanks so much for everything! Sue Dancer Lisle, IL

I admit I was skeptical that anybody could train Butch. He not only failed obedience class but was the most stubborn dog I ever owned. Butch is now obeying commands and walking on a heel without a leash. I’m very pleased. Ryan Walters Wheaton, IL

First I want to tell you that we took Dori on the river last week. We were all so relaxed and had a great time. Once we put her life vest on everyone assumed she was in search and rescue training because she was bright orange and incredibly well behaved. After that we ended up at Petco looking for the back pack you suggested we try. It happened to be adopt a dog day so I had to maneuver Dori past a large group of dogs. She did okay. I know we’ll have to work harder at that, but using your methods we got through it pretty well. Someone let their little dog wander up to Dori from behind. There was no time to react so I slacked up on the leash and did some happy talkin.’ Dori was fine with this little dog, who turned out to be a new puppy weighing 4lbs. My biggest concern was that Dori might sit on her! She was startled, but fine. On Mothers Day we went to a local fishing pond with our mom. Dori was delightful. Her focus was taken from time to time by the Geese and the people, but I was able to keep her in check. We went to Hospice in the afternoon and she never left my side unless directed to. She was far less uncomfortable and unsure of herself, falling asleep under the bed of the last person we visited. I introduced her to the tunnel for agility that I bought last year. She didn’t like it, but after 15 minutes of hanging out on the ground with her she followed me in and now she’s running laps through it. I put it away last summer because she just hated it and refused to go through. I forwarded the pictures because I wanted you to see how happy she is. Obviously we are thrilled, but Dori has become relaxed and happy. She’s in my basement studio asleep at my feet. This is not like her and such a pleasure. Lisa

It was hard to admit I couldn’t ‘control’ my dog, but desperation pushed me to call in a pro. Once Sandy arrived all that changed. He fully understands the nature of dogs and how owners can harness that. My worst moment of feeling like a failure while being honest about the problems we were experiencing was better than the best day I’d ever had with my dog before Sandy came. He doesn’t make you feel bad, but rather capable and informed. He’s a true dog whisperer, focused on helping you enjoy life with your dog the way it was meant to be – Happy, Fun and TOTALLY Stress Free!! Don’t live with it. Don’t put your dog down or give it away. Call Perfect Manners. We have an entirely different dog now. She’s a go anywhere, stay calm, “Oh, wow where can I get a dog like that?!” pooch, and we are loving it! Trust me, you will too.

That is all I can say. After a 1 hr session I now have my uncontrollable dog walking at a heel and not going crazy when the doorbell is rung. I am very happy that I had Sandy help with these problems and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND to everyone with a dog.

What impressed me is how quickly my dog got the message. It’s like he knew immediately what is expected. It is such a joy to have my dog come the first time I call him. This is money well spent. Michael O
